The announcement was made at the IEC’s Global Leadership Conference that brings together egg industry leaders from around the world with the goal of discussing global trends and emerging opportunities in the international egg industry.

“We strive to incorporate social responsibility into all aspects of our organisation,” said Peter Clarke, Chairman of Egg Farmers of Canada.

“Social responsibility is rooted in our traditions as an agricultural industry. The farmers we represent expect no less of their national organisation, because responsibility, integrity and commitment to community are important values in their businesses and lives,” he added.

Egg Farmers of Canada partners with national and international organisations, including Breakfast Club of Canada, Food Banks Canada and the International Egg Foundation. Canadian egg farmers support these initiatives through substantial product donations, fundraising and volunteering, ensuring more people benefit from the essential protein and nutrients in eggs.

Egg Farmers of Canada says it is also fostering the next generation of leaders through a national young farmer program and a partnership with the Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum, and investing in research that reduces the environmental footprint of the Canadian egg farming industry.
