Maximum residue limits in poultry tissues and eggs
Published by PoultryMed - Maximum residue limits (MRLs) are set for residues measured by a valid method of analysis. This method may measure the chemical or a derivative of the chemical and may include metabolites originating from the parent compound or other chemicals. In some cases, the nominal concentration of the parent compound is calculated from the measured concentration of a metabolite, but in other cases a derivative or metabolite is used as a measure of the residue. The residue to which the MRL applies is given for each chemical compound.
Maximum residue limit (MRL)
The maximum residue limit (MRL) is defined as the maximum concentration of a residue, resulting from the registered use of a veterinary chemical, that is recommended to be legally permitted or recognized as acceptable in or on a food, animal feed. The concentration is expressed in milligrams per kilogram of the commodity.
