Since it launched in 2006, Open Farm Sunday has attracted nearly one million visitors on to farms to discover where their food comes from and appreciate the vital role farmers play in caring for the countryside. This has established the event as the annual open day for the food and farming industry.
For this year's campaign, extra focus will be given to sustainable farming, providing a platform for farmers to demonstrate the work they do to enrich the environment and manage natural resources whilst producing our food.

'Can the poultry industry supply the world's expanding population with quality protein when energy resources become limiting?' is the title of the study by Julian Morgan (Director of Renewable Energy) and Mike Tyers (Consultant on Renewable Energy) with Countrywide Farmers plc.
Attendance at the presentation of the report is by invitation only due to limited space; an official invitation will be sent to regular attendees in due course.

Timed to coincide with the final negotiations on CAP reforms in early 2013, this seminar will provide a timely opportunity to assess the implications of imminent reforms for the UK farming and food sectors. Sessions will bring together key policymakers from Parliament and Whitehall with stakeholders with an interest in forthcoming changes in this area - including regulators, farming and agricultural research sectors, the food and drink industry, local authorities, charities, academia and consumer groups.
