integration goin better than I thought

well this morning let the gng out and no scrapping well initially anyway, then I spoke too soon, audrey mummy of the chicks well 3 of them went in and had a right go at them, you would never have thought that she had hatched them, she was horrible.
Then punch had a go and poor little raisin ended up under my coat. I have switched feeders so that the new one I bought yesterday that I put layers mash in I have had to put that near the babies coop as the others still went to the red one which was there's initially, I put the growers pellet in that one as it's a better feeder for pellets. When I first let them out obviously the bigger ones went to the red feeder and wouldn't let the babies out. Once they are all used to each other I will put the feeders back how they were. Meg is in solitary confinement in the shed, she aint impressed but if I can leave her in there one it should break her from being broody and 2 , once the others have got used to the babies then I have only then to let meg back in the run, she will no longer be the top hen , she will be the newbie and not be as bad to deal with. If I had her in the run this morning integration would not have gone as smooth blood would have been shed or worse. I must take some more pics and video. I have found it hard to come indoors and leave them to it moo x

Glad it's going well (apart from poor Meg)! They must be at least 10 weeks now??? They should be fine and dandy with the others after a day or 2. Mine have been in with the biggies for quite a few weeks now. I have a feisty cockerel (likes to take a chunk out of my hands), fortunately he is still small enough to handle and tuck under my arm, but I am worried about the dynamics with Butch when he gets older.......
I'm surprised you're not tempted to stick a couple of eggs under Meg, now you're an expert - not sure my blood pressure could take it though!!!!

Oh no no more little beaks and leggies. She is just sat there in the shed but she has only brought it on herself, she has been broody for weeks now and I am doing it for the babes safety and my own sanity. If the others are ok with the babies then when meg is re introduced I have only her to worry about. Integration is going wonderful, everytime I go out the babies come out to me surround me at my feet especially raisin he is such a sweet little man and OMG ollie is just a delight and loves her belly tickled and back stroked. I have had to do it with the main flock first then meg later , not just that meg would have sat in the babies coop and refused to let them in, they are 11 weeks this week, it's like they have been here forever. It seems like a lifetime ago now they were in the eggs. I remember with fondness candling the eggs and seeing them move

as soon as the babies here me going into the run they come out to eat, they are so funny. daisy is giving them a bit of grief but like you say each day will get easier, meg looks fed up in the shed but I need to break the broody moo x
