Talking i'm back and god i've missed you all!

hello everybody! sooooo good to be back! computer now has new motherboard, either net card and other whatsits and thingamies, still not perfect but hey, i'm here, unfortunately now has so much security on i can do bugger all! i was going to do a lovely photo update but it wont let me sync the photo's to web toula haven't forgoten about lola pics, same problem!
thank you so much helen for keeping everyone updated and for yours, fayes, lins and maries messages
marie that is such a lovely offer, you too pat, it's why i love you all so much!
hopefully i should be ok, son has an old laptop he's trying to get fixed for my birthday. your always welcome to free gardening advice and i'm coming to visit when the weather gets better, i'll bring my wellies and gloves
i've been keeping up with the news on my phone but replying is a nightmare!
i'm so sorry for all of you that have lost ladies, especialy little 'lucky' helen, i lost the naked necks so now have only the batties and lucky2, though the batties have incresed i now have 12! the last 2 are like footballs! and almost blond, they are barn hens but that brings it's own problems, many of the birds on the re home day had hard build ups on their feet, other than that they were in great condition and so friendly and calm, so sweet that sweet pea has gone outside to live with them and seems happy though would rather live inside and be playing with the dog, one of the girls looks like she has bad scaily leg from a distance but she must have been stood on at some point and has a thick leg {must stop calling her cancles!) from an old break and a dead toe, the other one was walking badly but layed an egg and was fine!
the oven ready girls finally have feathers! i wish i could post the pics they look so much better, not quite there yet but well on the way.
the ones i picked up for my sis have settled in their new home and her and her husband are well and truly hooked!
on a very sad but un chicken related news, i had to have my elderly cat put down last tuesday, we estimate her to have been 18+, she's been a bit senile for a while but had a stroke and couldn't eat, after a week of hand feeding her she showed no improvement so came to that hard choice to be made, i couldn't see her suffer and the vet agreed it was time, r.i.p jess
thank you too for the offers of eggs, you know i'm very fond of your gang sandie. i think for now i'll stick with the batties, those special needs girls need me i've started helping more with re home days and love it, you always worry that it'll be cliquie or something but they are a great gang and have made me feel very welcome.
off to catch up with some of your posts now!

It's good to have you back, sorry you lost your lovely nnecks. I know what you mean about the batties. I love having my bantams but in the future I can see me having one big run keeping my internal door on to seperate if I want to and just having batties running betwen the 2 runs having the smalll run side for newbies. I would love to put my name down for another 3 batties but at the moment I have 11 in my flock for of which 4 are batties. I worry about vets bills as we all do but I have never had more than 1 poorly at any one time plus I think my council wouldn't be happy if I over did it. If I had my way I would fill the run. I would love to help on a rehoming day but then I would want to bring them all home to mine moo x

glad to have you back fi missed you too x and sorry about your news re nn and your cat. We had to have my mums elderly collie pts last wednesday it was a heart breaking decsion but the right one. She was 18 and we had her since a 6 week old puppy but she was starting to loose the use of her legs, not realising she needed the loo, lossing weight not eating and her heart and lungs were failing.

my batties have increased by four and from day one really mingled into the rest of my gang. I dare not count them all now but pretty sure its up to the 30 mark and thats not counting the chicks! I call the new batts the curry girls and although not special needs i did ask for the worst off ones but already they have feather growth i noticed this morning. Their names are korma (if you see previous posts she is the one with the big red bum), madras, keema and tikka.

take care and bigs hugs to jim and lola xxx
