Question advice please sick chook and off on hols!

Ginger is 3, and after a brief moult was a little slow as usual, I can feel her breast bone, she was wormed in March and lives on our lawn with her healthy sister Omlette Not laying for a few weeks and since Saturday just sits all day, Crop is pliable and softens with the drink we have to help her with. Not eating without persuasion but had some treats yesterday, and some soaked weetabix this morning. She put herself to bed yesterday and got up this morning. Small green poo (lettuce perhaps) Her behind is softish and even, and she is hunched. (definately not broody)When I inspected her botty she had a small blob of mucus attatched to a feather. She had a few bits to eat today and I can feel grains in her crop.- about the size of a billiard ball Oh dear.
we are off on our hols and fear we will have to leave her to her fate with the chicken sitter . Our vets are not helpful with poultry but may have to pay a visit as a last resort. Can anyone help

I don't know much about sour crop, impacted crop etc as I'm fairly new to keeping chickens.
But I have had three sick chickens with these symptoms:
Green poo, pale comb, sleeping, can't walk/ leg paralysis, not laying, not eating and loss of some feathers.
You may have whatever I had. My first two poorly hens died- I gave them garlic, yogurt but no help. My third is currently sick. I took her to the vets- they gave me antibiotics and multivitamin for a very fair price. She is recovering- she can now walk a few steps and is eating a little.
I would recommend the vet- I wasn't sure about going either as my vet hasn't had many dealings with chickens
I hope Ginger gets well soon
Ryan

Unhappy oh dear

Thanks Ryan, Her comb isn't too bad if anything the mereist hint of purple at the tip. She tried to preen but didn't manage to get her head around. I've put her back with Omlette for the night and will see what tomorrow brings. I've compared her abdomen with Omlettes and it seems about the same. She can stand fully but will lob down if you put the on the floor. Like you I dont want to be robbed and do hope some one may be able to help. I dont have a stash of drugs either so will only resort to the vet if I have to. As she isn't distressed I'll go another day.

hi what breed is ginger ?she could be having egg problems due to her coming to the end of her laying days
i also wouldnt rule out worms, especially with the weather weve had recently.
does she have any other symptoms?
green poo is sometimes a sign of lack of nutrition or a deficiency (her moult would play a part in this too)
start her on a high protein diet (eggs, beef or fish cat food, mealworms etc etc )also offer her some yogurt plus add acv to her water for a week or two. if theres no improvement in say 3 days or if she worsens or shows any other symptoms best get to a vet as ryan suggests

Thanks
she's mixed bred - probably warren cross Leg Bar. We hatched her from some friend's cake ingredients when we had a broody ! I'll try the protein boost first and ACV and wormer. We are away Wed Eve so may have to vivit the vet pronto. I compared her abdomen to Omlette and they are about the same size size.
