Welcome to this week's newsletter
Editorial: Positivity Eminates from Bangkok
VIV Asia 2009 was held earlier this month in Bangkok. The show was well attended and there was a strongly optimistic mood. The very positive atmosphere at the show is reflected in a series of interviews with some of the leading suppliers to the Asian egg industry present at the event.
Despite some concerns with short-term issues related to the global economic situation, all the interviewees indicated that they expected the Asian egg industry to be back on track to achieve its predicted potential within a very few years.
This week's reports from countries outside Asia raise other concerns: both production and exports of poultry meat in Argentina have been revised downwards, and there are warnings about shortages of both food and skilled farmers in the UK.
