Did somebody say July?

What a busy season it’s been, and we’re already almost a week into July! Last month, we took a look at sustainability and focused in on Sweden and what their industry looks like today. We then visited the Lakes Free Range Egg Company in Cumbria and spoke with CEO David Brass about how he and his wife Helen started with 200 hens and not only upsized but did so sustainably, going beyond the highest welfare standards.

On that note, there also was big news from Compassion in World Farming who announced the winners of their Compassion Awards for animal welfare, along with Nestlé which also announced their push for higher chicken welfare in Europe.

Coming up in July, we’ll be looking at genetics, and keep your eyes open for the newest issue of Poultry Digital Magazine, which will be live next week!

Thanks always for reading, and get in touch if you have any story ideas, questions or suggestions!
