Print This Page Meeting To Discuss Poultry Farms Smell Near Dominican airport
THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - The smell affecting the Cibao International Airport by pig and chicken farms located in Uveral section of Licey township will be faced as of this Monday, with joint actions taken by the authorities of Civil Aeronautics and of that municipality, community organizations and the terminal’s operators.During a meeting held today Monday, community leaders of Licey raised diverse formulas to eliminate the problems of the bad smell and the waste waters from the animals.
The spokesman of the community organizations, Víctor Bretón, affirmed that the Public Health and Environment authorities are to blame for the problems in Uveral, because in his view these were indifferent to the organizations warnings that the solutions can neither affect the production nor the inhabitants.
