Print This Page Brazil Cuts Poultry Slaughter By 14% In Q2
BRAZIL - Brazil's National Statistics Institute reports that a total of 874 million head of poultry were slaughtered in Brazil in the second quarter of this year, a decrease of 13.9 per cent as compared with the first quarter of this year and 8.0 per cent lower than in the second quarter in 2005.Brazilian chicken meat exports in the second quarter were 24.0 per cent lower in value terms and 17.6 per cent lower in volume terms than in the same quarter last year.
Egg production in Brazil in the second quarter was 1.0 per cent higher than in the first quarter and 3.2 per cent higher than in the second quarter in 2005.
