Print This Page High Poultry Feed Prices Causing Major Problems
VIETNAM - Nguyen Dang Vang, director of Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Animal Husbandry Department, says that the high price of feed is causing major problems for Vietnam's poultry industry, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.
The price per kilo of poultry feed in Vietnam is now VND4,500 (USD0.28), as compared with VND4,000 (USD0.25) in Thailand, thereby giving Thai poultry a significant competitive advantage.
One of the main problems facing the Vietnamese poultry industry is the dominance of small-scale production, say analysts in Hanoi.
