Supplies to the market had remained low amid firm demand. Supplies of broiler day-old chicks have also remained low and farmers had difficulty securing adequate supplies for replenishing stocks.
In anticipation of higher meat demand fuelled by the cold weather, broiler processors were active in making procurement, propping up prices in most regions.
China breed broiler
In Guangxi and Guangdong, the cooler weather helped to facilitate broiler deliveries. Demand for broilers had continued to exceed supplies, thus providing momentum for prices to move higher.
Market forecast
In the week ahead, broiler supply is expected stay low. This will continue to push up prices amid positive demand.
