THAILAND - Charoen Pokphand Foods said it planned to boost its exports to the EU, after Thailand gained its biggest quota allocation.President and CEO Adirek Sripratak yesterday called it a great export opportunity, particularly for processed chicken products. The company's exports to the EU currently accounts for 40-50 per cent of its total exports.
"Both the high export quota and a lower-than-expected import tariff will enable Thai manufacturers to seize a greater market share," he said.
He added that Thailand would fulfil the EU's processed chicken quota of 160,033 tonnes within the next few years. In addition, Thailand's total export of these products will reach 200,000 tonnes per year soon.
