Print This Page Poultry returns to Royal Welsh fair after bird flu scare
UK - Poultry returned to the Royal Welsh Winter Fair after an enforced absence last year when the event was cancelled because of the bird flu scare.Welsh Federation of Poultry Clubs secretary Edward Page said he was delighted with the high standard of the 950 entries, topped by a Spangled Old English Game male, which took the overall championship for Martin Woolway from Gorseinon, Swansea.
Reserve champion was a Gold Brahma pullet from Sue Black of Penllergaer, Swansea. Mr Page said, "The judges were very pleased with the standards and there were some exceptional birds. "It's nice to be back, and no surprise to see Martin Woolway continue his winning streak."
