US - Turkey eggs in incubators down 1%, report the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).Eggs in Incubators on December 1 Down 1 Percent from Last Year
Turkey eggs in incubators on December 1, 2006, in the United States totaled 28.3 million, down 1 percent from December 1, 2005. Eggs in incubators were down 5 percent from the November 1, 2006 total of 29.9 million eggs.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central up 8 percent, West North Central down 11 percent, North and South Atlantic up 6 percent, and South Central and West up 3 percent.
Poults Placed During November Up 7 Percent from Last Year
The 23.4 million poults placed during November 2006 in the United States were up 7 percent from the number placed during the same month a year earlier. Placements were down 5 percent from the October 2006 total of 24.7 million.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central up 11 percent, West North Central up 9 percent, North and South Atlantic up 9 percent, and South Central and West down 7 percent.
