RUSSIA - The Russian government has decided to extend the level of import duty on poultry in 2006 to the end of this year, according to the Interfax news agency. The duty is 60 per cent but no less than EUR0.48 per kilo. An earlier government order had set this year’s import duty on poultry at 50 per cent but no less than EUR0.40 per kilo.
This year’s poultry import quotas will be distributed among importers in proportion with the volume of products they imported in 2005.
This means that quotas this year will be the same as in 2006.
