Czech Republic Poultry Data for 2006.

CZECH REPUBLIC - The Czech Statistical Office reports that the Czech Republic produced 216,111 tonnes of poultry meat in 2006, a fall of 4.7 per cent as compared with the previous year.

Poultry meat accounted for approximately 32 per cent of total meat production in the Czech Republic last year.

The average price of “1st quality” chicken averaged CZK19.18 (USD0.88) per kilo liveweight in 2006, a year-on-year fall of 9.0 per cent.

Regarding foreign trade, poultry meat imports increased by 4.6 per cent year-on-year to 59,609 tonnes in the period from December 1, 2005 to November 30, 2006, but exports decreased by 27.8 per cent to 20,528 tonnes. Most poultry meat exports were delivered to Slovakia and Germany, while most imports came from Poland, Brazil, the Netherlands and Germany.

The number of poultry in the Czech Republic as of 30 September, 2006 was 22.7 million, a fall of 0.7 per cent as compared with the number on the same date in 2005. Hen numbers fell by 4.9 per cent to 5.6 million.
