Aviagen Appoints New Nutritionist
ALABAMA - Aviagen, the world's leading poultry breeding company, recently named Dr. Marc de Beer as a poultry nutritionist.![]() |
In this role, Dr. de Beer will provide poultry nutrition advice to Aviagen customers and support the company's internal production operations with poultry nutrition and management guidance. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, he will work closely with Aviagen's global nutrition team in their nutrition research efforts.
Dr. de Beer joins Aviagen after recently earning his doctorate in nutrition from the University of Arkansas. A native of South Africa, Dr. de Beer received his M.S. and B.S. degrees from the University of Stellenbosch. His related work experience includes graduate assistant work as a research farm manager.
"I am confident Dr. de Beer will quickly become a valuable contributor as we continue to develop and enhance our global nutrition team," said Marcus Kenny, global head of nutrition services for Aviagen. "His outstanding educational background and deep understanding of avian nutrition will be strong assets to Aviagen and our customers."
