The centre says Japan has taken control measures and no new cases of avian influenza have been reported.

Japanese applications were shelved after an H5N1 outbreak on a poultry farm in Miyazaki in January. Another outbreak was confirmed on a poultry farm in Okayama in February.

Restrictions for Miyazaki and Okayama remain in place as the centre is still monitoring the situation.
