JAPAN - The Centre for Food Safety will resume processing applications for importing Japanese poultry and poultry products, except from the prefectures of Miyazaki and Okayama. The centre says Japan has taken control measures and no new cases of avian influenza have been reported.
Japanese applications were shelved after an H5N1 outbreak on a poultry farm in Miyazaki in January. Another outbreak was confirmed on a poultry farm in Okayama in February.
Restrictions for Miyazaki and Okayama remain in place as the centre is still monitoring the situation.
