Agroziv to Open New Poultry Plant.
SERBIA - The Agroziv meat processor in Pancevo in Serbia is planning to build a new EUR10 million poultry processing plant in order to improve its export business, according to SeeNews.Agroziv's commercial director, Nenad Zivanov, said that "The plant will have a capacity of between 8,000 and 10,000 chickens per hour". The plant's construction should begin this year, with production scheduled to start in the second half of 2008. Agroziv reportedly has a 60 per cent share of the Serbian poultry market.
Zivanov added that Agroziv wants to strengthen its position on foreign markets. The company plans to increase its revenues by 20-25 per cent this year, as compared with revenues of more than EUR100 million in 2006, according to Zivanov. Agroziv's profit in 2006 was worth EUR20 million, a year-on-year increase of EUR7 million.
Agroziv currently operates two poultry processing factories with a combined hourly processing capacity of 8,000 chickens, and a pig plant with a daily processing capacity of 4,000 pigs. The company's main export markets are Bosnia, Macedonia and Croatia.
