Indonesia To Bar Malaysian Poultry
INDONESIA - Indonesia plans to halt poultry imports from Malaysia after an outbreak of the H5N1 bird flu virus was found in chickens near the capital Kuala Lumpur, an agricultural ministry official says.

"We are processing the import ban decree, but Malaysian products on the way will automatically be banned," Musny Suatmodjo, director of animal health at the ministry, told reporters.
The official said Indonesia imports ducks and duck eggs from Malaysia.
Malaysian authorities detected the H5N1 virus in chickens in a village in Selangor on Wednesday, the first time avian influenza had been found in the country since March 21 last year.
Authorities have been culling chickens within a 1km radius of the outbreak as a protective measure.
