Print This Page Govt’s Bid To Procure Eggs At Cheaper Price
INDIA - With a view to procure eggs meant for noon-meal scheme at a cheaper and fair price, the State Government has ordered floating tenders every month, instead of calling them once in three months.A Government Order issued in this regard said that a perusal of the rates quoted in tenders in many districts had shown that the price per egg was quoted between Rs 2 and Rs 2.49, which is higher than the market price as well as the rate fixed by the National Egg Co-ordination Committee.
Following this, it has been decided that the relaxation of some of the rules would facilitate the participation of more bidders in the tender process.
