Fish, Chicken Prices Still High Despite End Of RVF
TANZANIA - Prices of fish and chicken have remained high in most parts of Dar es Salaam despite the disappearance of Rift Valley Fever (RVF), it has been learnt.

Traders attribute the trend to increased demand for chicken, fish and other marine products in the city, upcountry and some neighbouring countries.
“We are really doing a good business here as we get good pay from traders,” a fish vendor at Ferry Fish Market, Mr Swalehe Abdallah, told the Daily News yesterday. Mr Abdallah said it was now over five months since RVF disappeared, but the prices have slightly gone down.
He said kingfish was now selling at between 17,000/- and 23,000/- a piece, up from 13,000/- and 17,000/- some two months ago. Red snapper was selling at between 18,000/- and 24,000/-, up from between 13,000/- and 16,000/- eight weeks ago.
