US - Shell eggs broken up 1 percent from last year, report the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).Shell Eggs Broken Up 1 Percent from Last Year
Shell eggs broken totaled 185 million dozen during August 2007, up 1 percent from August a year ago, and 11 percent above the 166 million broken last month.
August 2007 contained 23 weekdays and 4 Saturdays. August 2006 contained 23 weekdays and 4 Saturdays.
During calendar year 2007 through August, shell eggs broken totaled 1.33 billion dozen, down 2 percent from the comparable period in 2006. To date, cumulative total edible liquid from eggs broken in 2007 was 1.74 billion pounds, down 2 percent from 2006.
