HONG KONG - The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has scheduled October 25 as the next rest day for poultry outlets. Operators of market stalls and fresh provision shops selling live poultry need to suspend business for thorough cleaning and disinfection. All retailers are also required to ensure all live poultry remaining in their stalls or shops are slaughtered before the day.
Failure to comply with the rest-day conditions will lead to immediate cancellation of licences or tenancies, the department says.
