Koka Scoops Ross Regional Broiler Award
CROATIA - Koka d.d, based in Varazdin, Croatia, are the proud winners of the inaugural Regional Ross Broiler Awards for Central and Eastern Europe.This prestigious award recognises the outstanding performance achieved by the Ross broilers reared by Koka and is based on an EPEF above 360, which is a remarkable achievement not only for the region, but for the whole of Europe.

The award was presented at the annual technical seminar, co-hosted by Aviagen and Koka and attended by 70 Koka personnel, which included presentations on topical subjects for the Croatian poultry industry: Jonny Harrison, Aviagen's Area Technical Manager, gave an overview of the UK Broiler Industry and an interesting insight into European trends and market developments. The emergence of niche markets for special poultry products was of particular interest to the audience. Tore Mercan, European Technical Service Manager, highlighted the critical inputs needed to enhance fertility, and Ian Dowsland, UK Technical Manager, discussed ventilation systems.
Awards were presented to both the farm manager and the company for their outstanding performance. The company award was accepted by Mr Miljenko Kostanjevec, Koka's Production Director, who commented: "We are very proud of winning the Ross Regional Broiler Award and are delighted with the performance of the Ross birds which continually produce outstanding results and provide us with year-on-year improvements and increased bottom-line returns."
