Lion Eggs Sponsor Flippin' MPs

The race, which takes place on Shrove Tuesday (5 February) involves cross-party teams of MPs racing each other across Victoria Tower Gardens, adjacent to the Houses of Parliament, while flipping pancakes! A team representing Lion Quality eggs will also be taking part.

Traditionally, Shrove Tuesday was the day in which eggs were used up before the period of Lent and Pancake Day remains ever-popular - in fact it is the single biggest week for egg sales.

Andrew Parker, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: “The Pancake Day race is the perfect platform to generate awareness of British Lion eggs at a crucial time for egg sales. At the same time we are able to support a very worthwhile charity in Rehab.”
