Print This Page Chia Tai Group Invests in Shanghai Poultry Sector
CHINA - Chia Tai Group will establish three large modernized breeding bases in Shanghai before the 2010 Shanghai World Expo opening ceremony. Xie Guomin, the chairman of Chia Tai Group announced.The modern breeding bases will supply 1 million pigs per annum. It will also deliver 2 million chickens for slaughtering and 3 million chicken eggs every week. Han Zheng, the mayor of Shanghai also welcomed this new project.
The total investment of three breeding bases exceeds RMB 10 billion. These new breeding bases not only focus on providing safe, healthy and nutritious meat and eggs for Shanghai World Expo, but aim also to create a new environmental-friendly modernized industry.
According to Chia Tai Group's projections, the breeding bases will be able to provide 90,000 tons of pork, 200,000 tons of chicken and 42,000 tons of eggs every year.
