Sources in the State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department told The Assam Tribune that the officials of the department along with the officials of a host of related departments would meet to review the ban order tomorrow.

The Additional Chief Secretary, meanwhile, has also confirmed about his participation in the meeting.

The State, it may be mentioned, had taken up preventive culling in the bordering districts with West Bengal as preventive measure after the outbreak of the deadly disease was confirmed in the neighbouring State.

“The decision whether to lift the ban or not will be taken tomorrow,” the sources said, adding that the areas where preventive culling was taken up would be monitored for 20-30 days.
