Bulgaria Poultry Farmers Stage Protest

BULGARIA - Bulgarian poultry farmers from the northeastern region of Dobrich stage a rally on Tuesday, protesting over the lack of subsidies for their products.

The farmers are to give their list of demands to the Dobrich district governor, who is then to inform the Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev and the Agriculture Minister Nihat Kabil about the producers' troubles.

Protesters call for a subsidy of BGN 1 per every kilo of meat they produce, as well as BGN 0,03 per egg and BGN 6 per slaughtered duck.
