Print This Page NFU Livestock Board Gets a New Chairman
UK - Alistair Mackintosh has been elected chairman of the NFU's national livestock board.Mr Mackintosh, who farms sheep and beef cattle at Ravenglass, Cumbria and had been a member of the livestock board for two years, will serve in the post for two years.
He said: "The livestock sector is facing a number of challenges. It is crucial producers receive enough for their product to enable on-farm reinvestment and ensure a sustainable future. We also need to look at reducing the regulatory burden that we are under as well as dealing with the cost sharing agenda and finding a way forward on bovine TB."
