Egg suppliers in Ho Chi Minh City are failing to follow health and safety testing procedures at nearly all levels of processing, a local newspaper has reported.
The HCMC Animal Health Department sets regulations for egg suppliers and retailers according to a three-tiered system.
At the first level, businesses buy eggs from farms, sterilize them and test for safety and quality.
All companies that undertake sterilizing and testing procedures must be licensed.
