Print This Page Russia Distributes All Poultry Quota
RUSSIA - Last week the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) announced that all of its 2008 poultry tariff rate quota had been distributed to foreign exporters. The timing of the publication was in accordance with Russian TRQ legislation. One-quarter of which was announced on December 14, 2007.
The remaining 75 percent of the poultry TRQ was allocated on April 16, 2008 using a new calculation system as spelled out under Resolution No. 263.
Russian Federation Resolution No. 263 states that the 2008 poultry TRQ is based on the 2007 TRQ volume proportional to the average volume of poultry imported in 2005 and 2006.
New companies, which began importing poultry in 2007, also received TRQ distribution in 2008. Their share came from the 40,000 MT increase in the 2008 TRQ volume. The United States received an allotment of 901,400 MT for poultry in 2008.
