Anitox says that its products optimise the efficiency of the pelleting process and increases mill output, whilst reducing process losses and energy consumption. According to them the program also improves pellet quality, reduces the requirement for binders, lowers equipment maintenance costs and optimises the shelf life of feed.

"Ever-more-stringent food-chain legislation in Europe means that feed manufacturers and livestock producers must focus on reducing incidences of contamination."
Roger Mann, the company's Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Trials conducted with feed manufacturers on four continents have produced average improvements of 71.1% in the retention of added moisture, 8.0% in press throughput and 2.9% in quality, with average reductions of 12.8% in energy consumption and 35.7% in press consumable costs.

Termin-8, the other product being launched by Anitox at VIV Europe, is a liquid anti-microbial bactericide which kills salmonella, reduces mold and total bacterial levels in feeds and feed ingredients.

Roger Mann, the company's Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, comments: "Greater affluence in the developed and developing countries is creating a rapidly-escalating demand for meat-based protein, resulting in more food safety-related issues, while ever-more-stringent food-chain legislation in Europe means that feed manufacturers and livestock producers must focus on reducing incidences of contamination.

"Companies in this sector must appreciate the importance of pathogen-free feed, be fully aware of the microbiological status of their products and consider plans to manage this issue cost-effectively and safely. Effective measures to increase feed and food safety will therefore be essential. Anitox is investing heavily to ensure that feed manufacturers and livestock producers are able to meet these challenges.

"As part of our worldwide development program we are actively seeking to appoint additional Distributors or Agents for our products and services, particularly in Eastern Europe and Russia."
