Malaysian Chicken Burst Through Ceiling Price

According to The Star the traders received letters from the Federation of Livestock Farmers Association notifying them of the new price, which took effect immediately.

A group of traders here said the ex-farm ceiling price for live chicken was now RM4.80 instead of RM4.50.

Their spokesman Latif Talip wondered whether the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry had given its approval.

“Since the price is now 30 sen above the ceiling price, we want to know if we can sell processed chicken above the ceiling price of RM6.
