Print This Page Latest Bird Flu Report to OIE
IRAN - Iranian authorities have sent a final report to the OIE concerning a small outbreak of avian flu at the end of last year.The report, sent to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) on 3 August, concerns an outbreak of avian influenza caused by the H5N1 virus strain.
The single outbreak took place in December 2007 in a backyard flock in Mazandran in the south of the country. Fourteen chickens died and the remaining 475 birds in the flock were destroyed.
