With the launch of Saskatoon's annual summer fair, Prairieland Park has unveiled a new interactive agricultural education display.
Saskatoon's summer fair kicked off on 5 August at Prairieland Park and the six-day event runs until Sunday.
Agricultural manager Lori Cates says planning for the project, which includes a set of interactive educational exhibits, began about a year ago in an effort to re-introduce agriculture to the summer fair.

They consist of computer games, touch screens and other interactive parts that we think will be really exciting for the kids to look at.
What we're trying to do is teach people about the value of agriculture in Saskatchewan and how agriculture affects their daily lives and ultimately to teach them about where their food comes from.
Each generation becomes a disconnect with agriculture.
What we're trying to do with this particular exhibit is make people, maybe younger people, more aware of agriculture in Saskatchewan.
It is a very important industry in our provinces and we're trying to instill the agriculture in the younger people, sort of re-invent it in a way that will be interesting to the kids.
Ms Cates says the first phase of the project includes Saskatchewan's dairy, beef, pork and poultry industries. Phase two will include the creation of a display that will focus on the grains and oilseed side and phase three will feature Saskatchewan's diversified livestock sector.
