International Symposium on Avian Influenza in April 2009
GLOBAL - The 7th International Symposium on Avian Influenza will be held at the University of Georgia on 5-8 April 2009.The 7th International Symposium on Avian Influenza will be held at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education, Athens, Georgia, USA, on 5-8 April 2009.
Oral and poster presentations will focus on poultry and wild birds including pathobiology, virus reservoirs and ecology, molecular basis of virulence, vaccines and diagnostics, phylogenetics and molecular epidemiology, risk assessment, transmission, national and international control strategies, economics, updates on recent highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks and impact on human health with a focus on occupational and exposure risks.
Online registration is already open. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 November 2008, and proceedings papers will be due by 16 March 2009.
Sponsors of the conference are US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service; Merial; United Stated Animal Health Association; American Association of Avian Pathologists; USDA/CSREES and USDA/APHIS.
It is organised by Southeast Poultry Research Laboratory, USDA, Agricultural Research Service.
