14 August 2008

GLOBAL - Global E-Trading NV (GET) has launched a for eggs as part of its portfolio of trading portals for the fresh and frozen produce industry.

The portal will be part of the eFresh.com trading site - a leading business-to-business (B2B) portal for members of the fresh and frozen industry, allowing them to find breaking news as well as trading opportunities from around the world.

Please visit the new egg portal, click here.

eFresh.com is an online B2B portal initiative where members of the fresh and frozen industry gather online daily to find breaking industry news as well as trading opportunities from around the world. eFresh.com currently serves more than 50,000 users each month, and continues to grow through acquisition of product specific portals, as well as the launch of new portals.

According to Robert Methorst, Portal Manager Eggs at eFresh, the new Egg portal has opened a whole world of global trading and B2B opportunities for the international egg industry.

"Staff at most companies dealing in eggs and processed egg products realize that there are a global network of peers ready to establish contact online," he noted.

"The problem is where to locate these individuals in the vast expanse of the Internet? Creating one easy to find spot is precisely what the new Eggs Portal will do - a gathering place of credible companies where producers can list their products and futures on a daily basis, and where buyers can select their suppliers, pick their products and deal one and one with their trading partners."

Egg buyers and suppliers can place their products on the new Eggs portal daily and in 'real time' for all buyers and clients to view. Registration and listing of products is free. Only when companies wish to start trading, is a nominal membership fee required. When placing an offer on the portal, a global group of international buyers is notified via email. Buyers can then immediately get in touch with sellers for any product offerings that are of interest - either via email or through the traditional channels of fax and telephone contact.

Registered users of the new portal will be able to trade Eggs and Egg products in several specialized categories, including: chicken eggs, quail eggs, guinea fowl, duck eggs, ostrich eggs, goose eggs, and processed items such as egg powder products.

Mr Methorst emphasised that eFresh.com does not charge any commission on actual trading deals between buyers and sellers.

"The only fee required is a yearly, quarterly or monthly membership fee, which guarantees unlimited trading," he explained.

What else can users expect to find on the site? For example, the latest offers posted on the site, breaking market news and top stories from around the world, important egg trading links and contacts and global egg statistics.
