Web Seminar on Controlling Salmonella in Poultry

UK - Intervet/Schering Plough animal health is broadcasting a web seminar focusing on the control of Salmonella in poultry.

During the web seminar the following speakers will present their views and experiences on the control of Salmonella.

Professor Tom Humphrey of the University of Bristol, UK will discuss "The persistence of Salmonella Enteritidis in the hen reproductive system, the survival in albumen and the effect stress has on egg contamination with Salmonella."

Mark Williams of the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), UK will look at "The UK experience in the control of Salmonella in laying flocks and the new EU regulation on controlling Salmonella in poultry."

Chris Pugh of the R&D Department of Intervet/Schering Plough Animal Health, UK will give a presentation on "The role of Iron Regulated Proteins (IRP) in Salmonella and other bacterial infections."

The web seminar will be broadcast on www.safe-poultry.com on 9 September at 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm and at September 10 at 8.30 am- 10.30 am. Central European Summer Time (CEST)1.
