Print This Page No Further Avian Infectious Laryngotracheitis in Peru
PERU - The veterinary authorities have sent a follow-up report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), stating that no further outbreaks of this disease have occurred the disease was first found on 11 August 2008.On 13 September, the Peruvian veterinary authorities had sent an 'immediate notification' report to the OIE about an outbreak one month previously of the notifiable disease, avian infectious laryngotracheitis. A flock of 42 backyard fighting cocks in the San Luis district of Lima was affected, with 26 birds dead and three were later destroyed.
The follow-up report dated 28 September says there have been no further outbreaks of the disease.
