Seventh Broiler House for Lower Saxony Farm
GERMANY - Praise from the Lower Saxon town of Cappeln in northern Germany: the Ottenweß family recently inaugurated their seventh broiler house from Big Dutchman.
“Technology, service and the overall collaboration have worked out really well. Why should we look in foreign places when the world market leader is located right around the corner?” explained Werner Ottenweß about his family’s decision to contract the company from Vechta.

Big Dutchman offers a product program for broiler production from computer-controlled feeding systems and sophisticated climate technology, over to hard- and software for computer-assisted house management up to exhaust air cleaning systems for a clean environment.
The 18-metre-wide new barn of the Ottenweß family is split in two sections, each 47.5 metres long. The house can hold up to 42,000 broilers. Each section is equipped with four lines of the Augermatic feeding system together with Fluxx feed pans. For hygienic and reliable water supply, the sections are equipped with eight nipple drinker lines. Both feed and drinker lines can be pulled up automatically, while a gable winch allows for further fine tuning.
The Ottenweß family has opted for other Big Dutchman products for its climate technology: the Viper climate and production computer, the Fogging Cooler cooling system, as well as the InfoMatic WebLink software, which ensures precise computer-assisted climate and production control.
