For ten months of 2008, all agricultural organizations of the region sold 351,800 tons of live poultry and 153,900 tons of live pigs, according to Meat Russia.

As Belgorod Statistics Service reports, poultry distribution volume increased 35 per cent compared to the same period last year. The region takes the leading position in terms of output. The share of regional agricultural organizations in poultry production amounts to 42.1 per cent of total poultry production volume of Central Federal District.

The share of total pig production is currently 51.1 per cent – up from about 40 per cent one year ago.
