Print This Page Another Case of Low-Path Bird Flu
GERMANY - Another outbreak of low-pathognic avian influenza (LPAI) has been reported to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
In a follow-up report dated 11 December, the German veterinary authorieites have informed OIE of a further outbreak of LPAI in a farm in Cloppenburg in Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen).
There were 45 cases in a flock of 8400 birds (type not specified). All the birds were destroyed.
H5 was confirmed, as was low pathogenicity. N1 was excluded and further investigations are on-going to identify the N-type.
