Print This Page A New Case of LPAI in Korea
REPUBLIC OF KOREA - The veterinary authorities in North Korea have sent a new report to the World Organnisation for Animal Health (OIE) about a further case of low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI). They report that the event is resolved.
The latest report (an 'immeidate notification') is dated 2 January 2009. It covers a case of LPAI involving 6,837 ducks in Eumsung-gun in the province of Chung-Chong-Bukdo. All the birds were destroyed.
The presence of the H5N2 virus sub-type has been confirmed.
