Print This Page Bangladesh Reports One New Case of Bird Flu
BANGLADESH - The veterinary authorities have reported one new case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The veterinary authority in Bangladesh has sent Follow up Report No. 13 (dated 3 February 2009) to OIE.
It describes one new outbreak of HPAI in a backyard flock in Kurigram, Rajshahi division in the north-west of the country. Five birds out of a flock of 595 were affected.
The presence of the H5N1 virus was confirmed.
