Print This Page Viet Nam Reports 15 New Cases of Bird Flu
VIET NAM - The veterinary authorities have sent a new report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) regarding 15 new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).
The veterinary authorities in Viet Nam have sent Follow up Report No. 27 to OIE on 16 February, covering 15 new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) since the previous report dated 6 February.
In total, 7751 susceptible birds were involved, of which 2297 were affected and 1819 died. The remaining susceptible birds were destroyed.
The presence of the H5N1 sub-type of the HPAI virus has been confirmed.
