Print This Page Viet Nam to Produce Bird Flu Vaccine
VIET NAM - Viet Nam will manufacture a vaccine against the avian flu to meet 20-30 per cent of domestic demand, said Le Minh Sat, an official from the Ministry of Science and Technology.This information was also confirmed by the Veterinary Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Currently, Vietnam must import some 250 million doses of bird flu vaccine annually.
The Ministry of Finance has proposed spending about VND160 billion this year to buy the vaccine and the vaccines Vietnam will produce are expected to be 60-70 per cent cheaper than the imports.
