JAPAN - The Japanese veterinary authorities have sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about one new case of low-pathogenic avian influenza.
The Japanese veterinary authority sent Follow up Report No. 4 to OIE on 19 March.
It covers one new case of LPAI in a flock of 670,000 laying quail in Toyohashi City in Aichi prefecture. The affected farm is within five kilometres of the first farm to find avian influenza at the end of February. The subclinical infection was found during routine testing and all the birds were destroyed.
The presence of the H7N6 virus subtype was confirmed.
