Print This Page Three New Cases of Low-Path AI in Japan
JAPAN - The veterinary authorities have sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) regarding three new cases of low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI).
The Japanese veterinary authority sent Follow up Report No. 5 dated 31 March to the OIE.
The report covers three new cases of LPAI, all in flocks of laying quail in Toyohashi City in Aichi prefecture. In each case, the infection started on 26 March. In total, 380,000 birds were affected and all were destroyed.
The presence of the H7N6 sub-type of the virus has been confirmed.
